between being in and out of doctors offices and the hospital this fall and now dealing with my mother’s terminal illness, it’s become so clear which people are actually there for me, and not just when it’s convenient for them. I’ve lost respect, patience, and any interest whatsoever in those who have no desire to be more than a fair-weather friend. Have a wonderful life without me, because lord knows I don’t need you in mine.
